Kenya’s overall HIV prevalence was reported at three per cent, with women experiencing a higher rate at just over four per cent compared with two per cent among men.
Kenya’s latest HIV data show that half of all people living with the virus in 2024 were concentrated in just seven counties, led by Nairobi, Kisumu, and Homa Bay.
Nairobi recorded the highest burden with more than 151,000 people affected, followed closely by Kisumu and Homa Bay, reflecting long-standing regional disparities.

The national HIV burden stood at over 1.3 million people, including more than 62,000 children aged between 0 and 14.
